How We Operate

How We Operate

For over 35 years, Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard has been providing emergency food to our neighbors in New Hanover, Brunswick and Pender counties. We believe that no person and no family should go home hungry, and we work tirelessly to make sure when people come to our doors for help, they never have to worry about leaving hungry.

As an all volunteer organization, we rely solely on the hundreds of volunteers who donate their time every day to help collect, sort, package and distribute food to those to come for help. With no paid staff, Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard operates with a working Board of Directors, whose members personally supervise the daily activities of the Cupboard. The mission of the Cupboard his a bonding thread that ties each of the volunteers together. It is something we believe in and how we all approach helping our neighbors.

Because we are an all volunteer organization, Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard could always use more help. If you are interested in volunteering with us, please check out our volunteer opportunities.
